What's the 'made with bernard' line at the bottom of my site?
Scroll to the very bottom of your live site, under your own footer, and you'll find a small line: Bernard's face, and the words made with bernard. Here's exactly what it is, what it does - and doesn't do - and what to do if you'd rather not show it.
What it is
It's a credit line, in the ordinary sense that a photographer gets a credit: a small link back to bernardmoves.com at the foot of your published pages. It's added at publish time rather than written into your files, so your actual content never contains it, and nothing you or your AI edit has to work around it.
It's deliberately lightweight and deliberately quiet. There is no script, no cookie, no tracking - it's a link and a drawing, a few kilobytes that have no measurable effect on how fast your pages load or on your visitors' privacy. If you're careful about what runs on your site (see What does bernard do with my data, and is it GDPR-compliant?), this doesn't move that needle at all.
It also borrows your styling rather than bringing its own. The credit inherits the typeface and colour of your site, so on a serif site it's set in your serif, and on a dark site it's light on dark. The only things it insists on are its size and its spacing, so it can't grow into something that competes with your own footer. Why it's there
Every bernard site carries it, whatever the plan - paying doesn't switch it off, because it was never a thing being sold back to you. It works the other way around: keeping it is rewarded.
