Where the money goes when someone enrols
Course platforms make most of their money from your money — headline "0% transaction fees" that quietly apply only if you use their payment processor, with a surcharge if you bring your own. bernard's arrangement is one sentence: enrolment money goes to your Stripe account, and bernard takes none of it.
How it works
- Ask Bernard to set up payments. He hands you a secure Stripe link — you open it yourself, connect an existing Stripe account or create one, and you're done. bernard never sees your bank details.
- Learners pay on your site. Card details go straight to Stripe's own secure checkout — they never pass through bernard.
- The money lands with you. Each enrolment settles into your Stripe account minus only Stripe's card fee. Refunds, payouts to your bank and your full payment history all live in your own Stripe dashboard.
Because the account is yours, so is everything in it. Leave bernard tomorrow and your payment history, your customers' receipts and your payout records go with you — there is nothing to export and nothing held hostage.

- Does bernard take a percentage of my course sales?
- No. bernard takes no cut of any enrolment — the only per-sale fees are Stripe's own card-processing fee, charged on your own Stripe account. Most course platforms' '0% fees' are conditional on using their processor; this one has no conditions.
- Do I need a Stripe account to sell a course?
- Yes — your own. bernard walks you through connecting it (or creating one) in a few minutes. It's the same account your bernard shop uses, and you keep it, and every payment record in it, even if you leave.
- Can I build the course before payments are set up?
- Yes. Build, price and preview the whole course first — drafting never needs Stripe. Publishing and approving it makes the pages real; enrolment itself opens once your Stripe account is connected.
