Bring back a page I lost
Sometimes a page goes missing. A link on your site that used to work now opens a “page not found” screen. Your site history still has that page, and Bernard can bring it back.
The prompt
“My [name of the page] page has gone missing from [my site]. Find the last good version in its history and bring it back, then show me a preview before anything goes live.”

How it works
Ask Bernard to bring the page back. He looks through that page’s history, finds the last version where it was still there, and puts that version into your draft. He does it on the server, from your own site history, so the page comes back exactly as it was: the words, the layout, and the small scripts that make things like the phone menu work.
You get a preview first. The page goes live only when you approve it. See Put it back how it was if you want a whole version of your site back instead of one page.
After it comes back
Bernard checks the restored page for links and pictures that no longer work, because a picture can change after the page was saved. He tells you what he finds before you approve.
Why pages went missing
If you moved your site in again, a page that took too long to read could be left out, and the old copy was removed with it. Bernard now keeps the old copy of any page that fails to import, and your import summary says which ones it kept.
Questions people ask
- Can I undo a deleted page?
- Yes. Every version of every page is kept in your site history, including pages that were later deleted. Ask Bernard to bring the page back and he puts the last good version into your draft. It goes live only when you approve it.
- Will the page work the way it did before?
- Yes. Bernard brings back the page exactly as it was, including the parts that make it work, such as the phone menu. He takes it straight from your site history, so nothing is retyped or lost on the way.
- Does this change the rest of my site?
- No. Only the one page comes back. Every other page stays as it is now, and your other unapproved changes stay in the draft too.
- Why did my page disappear?
- The usual cause is a fresh import of your old site where that one page could not be read in time, for example a page with a large animation. Bernard now keeps the old copy of a page that fails to import instead of removing it, and your import summary says which pages it kept.
- What about pictures on that page?
- The page comes back as it was. If a picture it uses was changed or removed since, Bernard checks the page after he restores it and tells you what is missing, so you can approve with your eyes open.
