Connect my website form to HubSpot

If your enquiries live in HubSpot, the form on your website should feed HubSpot. bernard works with HubSpot today, and there are two ways to set up a form on a page. Which one is right depends on where you want each enquiry to land.

The prompt

“I use HubSpot. Put my HubSpot form on my [page name] page. Here is its share link (or the embed code) from HubSpot: [paste it].”

Signed in, Get my prompt fills in your site for you. Otherwise press Copy and fill in the [bracketed] parts. First time? Connect your AI to bernard once: Use your own AI (opens in a new tab).

Two routes, and how to choose

Your own HubSpot form. You build the form in HubSpot, give Bernard its share link or embed code, and say which page it goes on. Bernard shows HubSpot’s own form page on your page in a frame, full width. Every lead goes straight into HubSpot, so your HubSpot lists, owners and workflows carry on as they do now. You set its look in HubSpot’s form editor rather than on your site, and the frame has a fixed height that fits the whole form on a phone.

A bernard enquiry form. Bernard adds a form of your own to the page. Each answer is saved in your contacts here and you get an email for every one. It takes your site’s fonts and colours. Nothing reaches HubSpot, so it suits you if you want your enquiries here rather than in HubSpot. See Capture leads with a signup form for the kinds of form you can have.

Putting your HubSpot form on a page

  1. Get the share link. In HubSpot, open Marketing, then Forms, choose the form and use Share. Copy the link. The embed code from the same place works too.
  2. Give it to Bernard with the page. Use the prompt above. Bernard first checks the forms your site already has, then puts your HubSpot form on the page, on a draft.
  3. Check it on a phone. Bernard sizes the frame so the whole form fits on a phone screen. Look at the preview on your phone before you approve.
  4. Approve, then test. Your current form stays until the new one is live. After you publish, send one test entry with your own email and check it arrives in HubSpot.

Coming next: HubSpot’s script version

HubSpot also has a script version of its forms, which bernard has checked and put on its list of outside tools. It sets cookies, so it switches on once bernard’s cookie-consent system can hold it. When it does, Bernard can use it instead of the frame. Until then the framed form does the same job. See Put your HubSpot form on your site for what bernard checked.

A HubSpot form that came with your site

If your old site already had a HubSpot form, it came across in the move and keeps working. Bernard lists it as a working form and never removes it unless you ask. If a form on your site goes nowhere at all, see My signup forms stopped working after the move, and for how every form on your site fits together, see How forms and signups work on my site.

Questions people ask

Does bernard work with HubSpot?
Yes. Give Bernard your HubSpot form’s share link or embed code and he puts the form on any page, so leads go straight into HubSpot. A HubSpot form that came across with your site keeps working too, and Bernard lists it as a working form.
What do I need from HubSpot?
The form’s share link: in HubSpot, open Marketing, then Forms, choose the form and use Share. The embed code works as well; Bernard turns it into the link for you. If HubSpot marks entries as spam, add your website’s address to HubSpot’s list of site domains.
Can I paste HubSpot’s code straight into my page?
No need, and pasted code is removed for safety every time. Give the code or the link to Bernard instead and he places the form the checked way.
Can the HubSpot form match my site’s look?
Only from HubSpot’s side. The form shows HubSpot’s own form page in a frame, so your site’s fonts and colours don’t reach inside it. Set the look in HubSpot’s form editor, under Style. If matching your site matters more than HubSpot, use a bernard enquiry form instead.
Why is there space under the form on a computer?
The frame has a fixed height, because HubSpot’s page can’t tell your site how tall it is. Bernard sets the height so the whole form fits on a phone, where it is tallest. On a wider screen the form is shorter, so some space shows below it. If a form is a little taller than its frame, it scrolls inside the frame, so nothing is lost.
What is the difference between a HubSpot form and a bernard enquiry form?
Where the answers go. A HubSpot form sends every lead straight into HubSpot, so your HubSpot lists and workflows run as they do now. A bernard enquiry form saves each answer in your contacts here and emails you every one, and it takes your site’s look, but nothing reaches HubSpot. Pick the one that matches where you work.
How do I check it works?
After you approve and publish, send one test entry with your own email address and check it arrives: in HubSpot for a HubSpot form, in your contacts for a bernard form. Never test with someone else’s address, because every entry is real.
Does anything go live straight away?
No. The new form lands on a draft with a preview link, and nothing changes on your live site until you approve it. Your current form stays where it is until then.
