Make a question-and-answer video from my lessons
Your customers ask the same five questions. You have answered all of them, properly and at length, somewhere in your teaching. What you have never had is the version that answers them in five minutes, in order, for someone who has not bought anything yet.
That is what this makes. Not a new recording - a new arrangement of the recordings you already have.
How it works
- Start with the questions, not the footage. In the words a customer would use, not the words a syllabus would. "How long does it take to learn?" beats "Module timings and expected progression". Three to five is the right number.
- Bernard finds where you answer each one. One search per question, through everything you have said across the course - so an answer can come from lesson two and the next from lesson eleven, which is exactly how a good interview would go anyway.
- It checks you are on camera. Long stretches of most courses are titles, animation or stock footage, and the words being spoken read identically over all of them. So before an answer is used, bernard looks at what is on screen at that moment, not only at what is being said. An answer that turns out to play over a slide gets flagged, not used.
- The questions go on screen. Each one appears low in the frame while you answer it, fading in and out. Bernard works out the exact timings from the finished film's own running time, and shows them to you.
- You approve the running order. Every question, with your answer quoted back in your own words, and the total length. Nothing is made until you say yes.
- Then it renders, in the background, a few minutes. The film lands in your site's files, ready to put on a page or download.
Where it earns its keep
On the page where people decide - a sales page, a course page, an About page. Someone who watches you answer their own question in your own voice has met you, and that is a different conversation from one that starts cold. It also travels: the same film cut into single answers gives you a month of posts (What should I post, and where?).

One honest limit: this only works from footage that already exists. Bernard does not shoot anything and does not write words for you to have said. If the answer is not in your lessons, the honest reply is that it is not there yet.

Questions people ask
- Can bernard make an interview or Q&A video for me?
- Yes, from teaching you have already recorded. You give the questions your customers actually ask; bernard finds where in your lessons you answer each one, checks you are on camera at that moment, and cuts them together into one film with the question on screen while you answer.
- Do I need a second person on camera?
- No. In most films the question appears on screen as text and you answer it - the interviewer is implied. If your course does happen to have a second person asking the questions on camera, bernard can alternate the two of you instead, which is the same thing with a face attached.
- How many questions should I use?
- Three to five makes a film someone will watch to the end. Ten makes a lecture. It is better to make two short films than one long one, and bernard will say so if the list is getting long.
- What if I never answered one of the questions?
- Then it does not go in the film. Bernard works only from what is actually in your footage - it will tell you plainly that it could not find you answering that one rather than stitching together something you did not say. Record the answer and it can go in the next version.
- Does it change my site on its own?
- No. Bernard shows you the running order first - every question with the answer quoted back in your own words - and nothing is made until you approve it, because rendering a film costs real time. Putting the finished film on a page is a separate change and waits for your approval too.
