Bernard reads my lessons one at a time and it takes ages
When you ask Bernard about a module - “what does part two cover?”, “which lessons never mention sleep windows?”, “write me a summary of this course” - he needs to read the written notes under each lesson first.
The prompt
“Read the notes of every lesson in [module name] of my [course name] course and tell me [what you want to know - the main points, the gaps, the questions it answers].”

He does not have to open them one by one. Bernard reads the notes of a batch of lessons together, and each one comes back in full. A long course is a handful of reads rather than one per lesson, so you get your answer sooner.
What to ask for
- “Read module three of my course and list the main points.”
- “Which lessons in my course don’t have any written notes yet?”
- “Read my whole course and tell me where I repeat myself.”
- “Use the notes from my first five lessons to draft a welcome page.”
Bernard finds the lessons from your course outline, so you can name a module, a range (“lessons 4 to 12”) or the whole course.
Nothing changes when he reads
Reading never edits a lesson. What you do with what he read is up to you: turn it into posts and pages (Use my own teaching material - turn lessons into posts and pages), fix the same wording everywhere (Change the same thing in every lesson of my course), or tidy the way the notes look (Make my lesson notes easier to read - fold sections away, add email links, number the steps).
If a name you gave doesn’t match a lesson, Bernard says which one, and reads the rest anyway.
Questions people ask
- How many lessons can it read at once?
- Up to 20 in one go. A bigger module or a whole course is simply a few goes in a row - you don’t have to split anything up yourself.
- What if my lessons are very long?
- Every lesson comes back whole - nothing is cut off the end. If a batch of long lessons is more than one read can carry, Bernard reads as many as fit and then carries on with the rest straight away.
- Does reading my lessons change them?
- No. Reading is only reading - nothing in your course moves. If you then ask for a page, a blog post or a newsletter built from what was read, it lands as a private draft and goes live only when you approve it. Lesson edits are different: they reach your students at once, with no draft step, so ask Bernard to tell you what it will change before it changes it.
- Does this work with the AI I’ve connected - Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini?
- Yes. A normally connected assistant has the ‘read your courses, lessons and transcripts’ permission, so it reads your lessons in batches the same way.
- What about my video lessons?
- This reads the written notes under each lesson. For what you say in a video, Bernard reads that lesson’s transcript instead.
