Are my conversations with the AI saved?

Yes. Every chat you have in your bernard workshop is saved as it happens, under Past conversations. Closing the tab, or pressing New chat, no longer loses it. Anything you approved is also listed as a change in your site's history.

How do I see why a change was made to my website?

Weeks after the fact, the question is rarely "what changed". Your site history answers that. It's "why did I ask for that?" The wording you'd agonised over, the thing a customer had said to you that week, the reason you chose one headline over another.

Every conversation you have with Bernard in your workshop is saved as it happens, so that reasoning is still there when you want it.

Where to find them

Open your workshop and choose Past conversations. It sits beside the New chat button, and on the greeting when you haven't started a chat yet. You get your conversations newest first, grouped by day, each one named after what you actually asked for.

Open any of them and you see the whole exchange in reading order: your messages, what Bernard said back, and a note at each point where a change to your site was drafted.

Reading it the other way round

You can also come at it from the change rather than the chat. On your site's page, version history lists everything that has gone live. Where a version came out of a conversation, a Why this change? link sits beside it and opens that conversation.

So the two records answer different questions, and each points at the other. Version history says what happened to your site and lets you Put it back how it was. Past conversations say what you were trying to do.

What is and isn't kept

The words are kept: yours and Bernard's. Pictures you attached to a message aren't stored in the conversation itself, so a message that was only an image reads as a note saying so.

An old conversation is a record, so it stays as it is, and you can't reply into it. When you want to pick something back up, start a fresh chat and say where you got to. Bernard reads your site as it stands today, and, as always, nothing reaches your visitors until you approve it (How do I approve or undo changes?).

Your conversations are yours. They sit behind your login, readable by you and anyone you've added to your account, and they're never published on your site.
