Teachable 2026 pricing, explained - what Teachable really costs

Teachable's headline number is $29 a month, and it is doing what cheap headline numbers in this category usually do: standing in front of a percentage. The Starter plan takes 7.5% of every sale you make. The plan that takes nothing costs nearly three times as much. Which of those is really the price depends entirely on how much you sell, and that is the arithmetic worth doing before you sign anything.

Billed monthly instead, the plans are $39, $89 and $189. Card processing sits on top of all of it, on every plan: 2.9% plus 30 cents for US cards and 3.9% plus 30 cents for international ones. A UK seller with UK students is mostly on the international rate.

The 7.5% is the real price of Starter

Put a real month through it. Sell £1,000 of courses a month on Starter and the 7.5% is £75 a month, £900 a year, on top of the $348 plan. You are paying more in commission than the entire gap up to the Builder plan that would have charged you nothing. The cheap plan stops being cheap at around £420 a month of sales; past that, it is the expensive plan.

That is not a trick unique to Teachable, it is the category's standard shape. But Teachable's version is the steepest of the big platforms: 7.5% against Podia's 5% and Kajabi's 2%.

What the price is really for

Teachable Builder at about £645 and Bernard at £800 are close enough that the difference is not really the money, it is what the money buys.
