Add photos straight from my phone
The photos are on your phone; the website is somewhere else entirely — and the gap between the two is where updates go to die. On a bernard-hosted site, the chat you paste photos into is the way onto your site.
How it works
- Get your access prompt. Log in to bernard, open your site, and copy the prompt from Edit with AI (it contains a key that works for 12 hours).
- Paste it into your AI — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, whichever you already use — then attach or paste the photos straight into the chat and say where they should go.
- Approve. The AI sends back a preview link. Check the photos look right where they've landed, press Approve, and they're live.
Tell the AI a little about each photo as you paste it — what it shows, which page it belongs on — and it writes captions and descriptions to match, so the images help your site get found, not just looked at.
The prompt
“I'm going to paste some photos from my phone — add them to my [page name] page, with short captions based on what I tell you about each one.”
The [bracketed] parts are yours to fill in. First time? Log in to bernard → your site → Edit with AI → copy your access prompt, paste that into your AI first, then ask the above.
Questions people ask
- How do I get photos from my phone onto my website?
- If your site is hosted with bernard, open the AI app you already use — ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini — paste or attach the photos into the chat, and say where they should go. The AI uploads them to your site, and nothing goes live until you approve the preview.
- Do I need to transfer the photos to a computer first?
- No — the whole thing works from your phone. The AI apps all accept photos straight from your camera roll, and that's all bernard needs.
- Is there a size limit on photos?
- Each file can be up to 10 MB, which comfortably covers a phone photo, and your site has 500 MB of space overall.
