Use better product photos
A dim, yellow-tinged photo can make a beautiful piece look like a car-boot find — and buyers shop with their eyes first. When you've taken better shots, getting them onto your bernard-hosted site is a matter of pasting them into a chat.
How it works
- Tell Bernard. Log in, open your site, paste the new photos into the chat and say which products they belong to — or use the prompt below.
- Or use your own AI. Prefer ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini? Connect it once in Use your own AI (a one-time MCP setup), then paste the photos there — same result.
- Approve. Either way you get a preview. Check the new photos look right in place, press Approve, and they're live.
A quick rule of thumb for the photos themselves: daylight, a plain background, and the piece filling most of the frame. Everything after the shutter is handled for you.
The prompt
“Replace the photo of [the product name] on my shop page with the one I'm pasting — keep everything else about the entry the same.”
The [bracketed] parts are yours to fill in. First time? Connect bernard to your AI over MCP — a one-time setup in bernard → your site → Use your own AI — then paste the prompt above.
Questions people ask
- How do I change product photos on my website without a builder?
- If your site is hosted with bernard, paste the new photo into the chat — with Bernard in your dashboard, or the AI you already use, ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini — and say which product it belongs to. It's swapped in and you see a preview; nothing goes live until you approve.
- What size should product photos be for a website?
- Anything up to 10 MB per image works — a good photo straight off a recent phone is fine. It's placed so it displays properly alongside your other products.
- Can I replace several photos at once?
- Yes — paste them all in one message and say which product each belongs to. Every change lands on the same preview, and you approve them together.
