Put my logo, my signature and my colours on the certificate

Every site starts with bernard’s own certificate design. It already prints the learner’s name, what the certificate is for, your business name, the date and a certificate number, in your site’s colours. You can change as little or as much of it as you like.

What bernard’s design prints

The design has two parts. The frame is the border, your logo, the signature and the name under it, the certificate number, the check link and a small QR code. The wording in the middle is yours: the heading, the words around the learner’s name, and your accreditation line if you have one.

Four things are yours to fill in:

Your logo - an image from your site’s files.
A signature - an image of the signature, from your site’s files.
The name under the signature - for example “Emma Dewey, Course Director”.
An accreditation line - your own words, printed as you write them.

Changing it

Ask in plain words: “put my logo at the top”, “change ‘This certificate is awarded to’ to ‘Congratulations to’”, “add my accreditation line”. bernard prints a sample with a made-up learner, whose name is deliberately long so you can see it fits, and shows it to you. Nothing is saved until you approve it.

You can also change the wording and your four details yourself in Your customers > Certificates, under Designs: print a sample, then save the design you have seen.

If you want a completely different layout, bernard can replace the frame as well, with your own border, arrangement and typefaces. It still has to show the learner’s name, the certificate number, the check link and the QR code, because those are what let anyone check a certificate is real.

The rules every design follows

One A4 landscape page, or two you declare. A design that spills onto an extra page is refused, with a note saying so. Shorten the wording or reduce the margins. A second page on purpose, such as a transcript, is possible with a full custom layout: bernard builds it so each page says its own size and which way up it goes, and checks every print against that.
Your own files only. Pictures and fonts must come from your own site’s files. Upload them first (Give learners a certificate when they finish my course covers the rest of the setup).
Old certificates never change. Each certificate keeps the design it was issued with. To reprint one in the new design, replace it (A certificate has the wrong name, or I need to cancel one).

More than one design

You can keep several designs, for example one per level. Every course uses your default design unless you give it its own. A design a course is using, or your default, cannot be put away until you move those courses to another one.
