Bernard looks after things for you1 min read

Why does LinkedIn ask me to reconnect bernard every couple of months?

LinkedIn connections do not last for ever. About two months after you connect, LinkedIn stops accepting bernard’s connection until you approve it again. This is LinkedIn’s own rule, and it applies to every app, not only bernard.

The prompt

“When does my LinkedIn connection run out, and do any of my scheduled posts depend on it?”

Signed in, Get my prompt fills in your site for you. Otherwise press Copy and fill in the [bracketed] parts. First time? Connect your AI to bernard once: Use your own AI (opens in a new tab).

The week-before warning

From a week before the end date, the LinkedIn row on the Social accounts card says Reconnect by the date, and Bernard emails you once. Press Reconnect and approve on LinkedIn’s own screen. It takes a minute, and your posts carry on.

Until the end date

Nothing changes before the real end date: Bernard keeps posting your scheduled LinkedIn posts. Any post due after that date shows a warning on its calendar card straight away, so you are not surprised on the day.

After the end date

The row says Reconnect to keep this working. A LinkedIn post due after the end date does not go out, and its card says the connection ran out. Reconnect, then press Schedule on the post again for a new time.

How do I connect Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn to bernard? explains the card, and How does Bernard post to Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn for me? explains how Bernard posts for you.
