Take a student off a course
Sometimes a student needs to come off a course: a refund, a membership that ended somewhere else, or someone added by mistake. Ask, and it is done.
The prompt
“Take [their email address] off my [course name] course - [why].”
Signed in, Get my prompt fills in your site for you. Otherwise press Copy and fill in the [bracketed] parts. First time? Connect your AI to bernard once: Use your own AI (opens in a new tab).
How it works
- Say who and which course. “Take [email protected] off Wide Open Landscapes - she was refunded.” The reason is kept on her record.
- Bernard checks with you first, naming the person and the course.
- Access ends at once. Her link stops opening that course and the course leaves her page of courses. Any automatic course emails still waiting for her on that course are cancelled. Nothing is sent to her.
To bring her back, enrol her again (Enrol a student myself - they paid elsewhere). Taking a whole list of people off? See Give lots of people access to my courses at once.
Questions people ask
- Does the student get an email when I remove them?
- No. Nothing is sent. Their sign-in link simply stops opening that course, and the course disappears from their page of courses.
- Does Bernard check with me first?
- Yes. He names the person and the course back to you and waits for your approval before taking anyone off.
- What happens to their certificate?
- Nothing. A certificate they already earned stays valid. Withdrawing a certificate is a separate step.
- Can I undo it?
- Yes. Enrol them again and they get a fresh link. The old link stays switched off.
- Can I remove lots of people at once?
- Yes. Give Bernard the list of people and courses and he removes them in batches, reporting each one.
