Reorder my menu
Menu order is a quiet ranking of what matters on your site — and if "Shop" is hiding in fifth place, you're telling visitors not to bother. On a bernard-hosted site you reorder it by listing the order you want.
How it works
- Get your access prompt. Log in to bernard, open your site, and copy the prompt from Edit with AI (it contains a key that works for 12 hours).
- Paste it into your AI — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, whichever you already use — then list the order you want, or use the prompt below.
- Approve. The AI sends back a preview link. Check the menu reads in the right order, press Approve, and it's live.
The menu lives on every page, and the AI updates them all in one change — so the order is consistent wherever a visitor lands.
The prompt
“Reorder my site menu to: [the order you want, e.g. Home, Shop, Gallery, About, Contact] — on every page the menu appears.”
The [bracketed] parts are yours to fill in. First time? Log in to bernard → your site → Edit with AI → copy your access prompt, paste that into your AI first, then ask the above.
Questions people ask
- How do I change the order of my website menu?
- If your site is hosted with bernard, tell the AI you already use — ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini — the order you want. It rearranges the menu on every page of your site, and shows you a preview to approve before anything goes live.
- What order should a website menu be in?
- Home first, the thing you most want visitors to do next — usually your shop or gallery — second, and Contact last, where people expect it. Put the page that earns you money near the front.
- What if the new order doesn't feel right?
- Reject the preview and describe a different order — nothing is published until you press Approve. And bernard keeps a full year of history, so even an approved change can be put back.
