Questions people ask
- What email do my students receive when I enrol them?
- One welcome email, sent the moment you enrol them: it names the course, says whether their access runs out or is theirs to keep, and carries their personal sign-in link. Ask bernard to show it to you and you get the real thing, subject line and all, with your own course title filled in.
- Does asking to see it send anything?
- No. Nobody is enrolled, nobody is emailed, and no access is granted. It is a read, so there is nothing to approve either - it only shows you what already goes out.
- Is the sign-in link in the preview real?
- No, and deliberately so. The preview link is an obvious placeholder that will not open the course. Every real student gets their own private link, created only when you actually enrol them.
- Can I change the wording of the welcome email?
- Not today. It is one email, the same for every course business on bernard, which is why you can see exactly what it says. If it is getting in your way, say so - what owners ask for shapes what gets built next.
- Why does the preview show a date my course does not have?
- If your course sells access for a fixed period, the email names the day access ends. There is no real enrolment behind a preview, so it shows the date a student enrolling today would get.
