Make my about page tell a story

The about page is the most-visited page on most maker sites, and the most wasted — a few flat facts where a story should be. People buy from people, and this is where they decide they like you. On a bernard-hosted site, you tell your AI the story and it does the writing.

How it works

  1. Get your access prompt. Log in to bernard, open your site, and copy the prompt from Edit with AI (it contains a key that works for 12 hours).
  2. Paste it into your AI — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, whichever you already use — then tell it your story in plain words, or use the prompt below.
  3. Approve. The AI sends back a draft. Read it, make sure it sounds like you, press Approve, and it's live.

Give it the real details — how you started, why it matters, what you're like to work with — even if they come out messy. A warm about page earns the visitor's trust; back it up with proof from other people by Add reviews and testimonials.

The prompt

Rewrite my about page so it tells my story — how I came to do [what you do], what drives it, what makes it mine. I'll give you the details; keep it warm and human, not a list of facts. Show me a draft before publishing.

The [bracketed] parts are yours to fill in. First time? Log in to bernard → your site → Edit with AI → copy your access prompt, paste that into your AI first, then ask the above.

Questions people ask

What makes a good about page?
A story, not a résumé — how you started, why it matters to you, what a visitor can expect. People buy from people, and the about page is where that connection happens. Your AI can draft it from what you tell it on a bernard site, and you approve it before it goes live.
I'm not a writer — can the AI help?
That's exactly what it's for. Tell it your story in plain words, even messily, and ask it to shape it. You read the draft and approve, or ask for changes, before anything is published.
