Cut the waffle so my point lands

Most web writing is twice as long as it needs to be — a warm-up paragraph, a few repeated points, filler that sounds nice and says nothing. Trimming it makes the point land harder and the page rank better. On a bernard-hosted site, your AI does the cutting, and shows you first.

How it works

  1. Get your access prompt. Log in to bernard, open your site, and copy the prompt from Edit with AI (it contains a key that works for 12 hours).
  2. Paste it into your AI — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, whichever you already use — then ask in your own words, or use the prompt below.
  3. Approve. The AI shows you what it would cut. Keep anything you want, press Approve, and the tighter version is live.

Ask to see the cuts before they happen, so nothing you care about disappears. A page that's tight and well-ordered then needs only one more thing — somewhere obvious to go next, which is what Guide visitors through my site adds.

The prompt

Read [the page] and cut it down — remove the padding and repetition so the point lands, but keep my voice and everything that matters. Show me what you'd cut before changing anything.

The [bracketed] parts are yours to fill in. First time? Log in to bernard → your site → Edit with AI → copy your access prompt, paste that into your AI first, then ask the above.

Questions people ask

How do I make my website writing tighter?
Cut the warm-up sentences, the repetition and the filler, and lead with the point. Shorter pages get read more and rank better. Your AI can do the trimming on a bernard site while keeping your voice — and you approve every cut on a preview first.
What if it cuts something important?
Ask it to show you what it would cut before changing anything, so you can keep whatever matters. Nothing is published until you approve the preview.
