What happens to my post if Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn is not connected?
A post does not need a connected account. If Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn is not connected, you still write the post, approve it and pick a time. Bernard then reminds you at that time, and you post it in the network’s own app.

What you see on the calendar
When you make a post, a network with no connected account looks lighter, with a dashed border and these words: Not connected. Bernard reminds you to post it yourself. Beside it, Connect Instagram or Connect Facebook takes you to the Social accounts card, where you connect it once (How do I connect Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn to bernard?).
If Bernard cannot connect a network for anyone yet, the words say so, and there is no link. You post to it yourself when Bernard reminds you.
You can still tick the network, write the words and choose the photo. It is a note, not a lock.
At the time you chose
Bernard emails you once, and your calendar shows the post as Ready to post. Open it and follow the card:
- Copy the words.
- Share the photo from a phone, or save it on a laptop. It is the prepared photo you approved. For a film, Save the film.
- Paste the words in the network’s own app and post it.
- Tell Bernard. Press It’s live, and paste the link to the post if you have it. Or press Not yet, Reschedule or Skip.
Bernard never marks your own post live on his own. Opening the app is not proof that anything went out.

Connected, but not posting for you yet
Each network must approve bernard before Bernard may post there. Until a network is switched on, its row on the Social accounts card says Ready to post for you once approved, and your posts to it work the same way as above. Questions people ask
- Can I still schedule a post to a network that is not connected?
- Yes. The choice stays open. Pressing Schedule approves the exact words, photo and time as usual. At that time Bernard reminds you instead of posting.
- Why does it say LinkedIn cannot be connected yet?
- Bernard cannot connect that network for anyone yet, so there is no Connect link. Your LinkedIn posts still work: Bernard reminds you at the time and you post them yourself.
- I connected my account. Why do I still post it myself?
- Each network has to approve bernard before Bernard may post there for anyone, and posting is switched on one network at a time. Until then the account’s row says Ready to post for you once approved, and the post works exactly as on this page.
- Will Bernard post it for me once I connect?
- Only where the network has approved bernard and posting is switched on, and only posts you approved. A post you scheduled before you connected has no account chosen, so Bernard still reminds you. To have Bernard post it, choose the account on the post’s card and press Schedule again.
