What did my members talk about this week?

Ask Bernard what your members talked about and you get the week read back to you: new threads, how many people spoke, the busiest conversation, the recent posts in full, and anything a member flagged.

What the digest contains

  • New topics - every thread started in the period, with its category and reply count.
  • Voices - how many different people posted.
  • Busiest thread - the one with the most replies.
  • Recent posts - the actual words, up to 2,000 characters each, with the author’s name and a post id.
  • Flagged posts - anything a member reported, with the reason and a count of how many people flagged it.

Using the ids

Every post and thread in the digest carries an id. These ids feed the moderation tools: when you say “remove the second one”, Bernard matches the id. You can also read a full thread by its id: [[community-forum-explained|”show me that thread”]].

Changing the window

The default is 7 days. Ask for a different period and Bernard adjusts: “what happened in the last 3 days?” or “the last month?” Up to 90 days.

The weekly read

The digest is the raw material for your weekly check-in. Bernard summarises it in its own voice - the new threads, who was active, anything that needs your attention - and offers the moderation moves (How do I take down a post or close a thread?) by name.

Questions people ask

How far back can I look?
Up to 90 days. The default is 7. Ask for a different window: ‘What happened in the forum in the last 14 days?’
What are the ids for?
Every post and thread in the digest carries a small id. When you say ‘remove the second one’ or ‘lock the thread about brushes’, Bernard uses the id to find the exact item. You do not need to remember the ids yourself.
What is a flagged post?
A post that a member reported. The digest lists flagged posts so you can review them. Flags are handled by the moderators and the owner.
Can I get this automatically every week?
A weekly standing digest as a scheduled job is planned for a future phase. For now, ask for it when you want it. Any moderation action Bernard suggests from the digest still needs your approval before it happens.
