My phone number is wrong
An old phone number on your website costs you enquiries — people call it, get nothing, and move on. On a bernard-hosted site you fix it by asking, not by hunting through a website builder.
How it works
- Get your access prompt. Log in to bernard, open your site, and copy the prompt from Edit with AI (it contains a key that works for 12 hours).
- Paste it into your AI — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, whichever you already use — then ask in your own words, or use the prompt below.
- Approve. The AI sends back a preview link. Check the number looks right, press Approve, and it's live.
The AI checks every page, so the number in the footer, the contact page and anywhere else all change together — no stragglers.
The prompt
“Change the phone number on my site to [the new phone number] — everywhere it appears, including the contact page and the footer.”
The [bracketed] parts are yours to fill in. First time? Log in to bernard → your site → Edit with AI → copy your access prompt, paste that into your AI first, then ask the above.
Questions people ask
- How do I change the phone number on my website without a website builder?
- If your site is hosted with bernard, you don't need a builder or a dashboard. Tell the AI you already use — ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini — what the new number is, and it makes the change through bernard. Nothing goes live until you approve it on a preview page.
- Will it find the phone number everywhere it appears?
- Ask it to. The prompt on this page says 'everywhere it appears' — the AI reads each page of your site and changes every occurrence, including the footer and contact page.
- What if it changes the wrong thing?
- Nothing is published until you look at a preview and press Approve. If you spot a mistake, reject the change and ask again — and bernard keeps a full year of history, so anything can be put back.
