Change a price

On most website builders a price lives in three places - the shop grid, the product’s page, the checkout - and drifts between them. On a bernard shop it lives in one: change it once, by asking, and everywhere that shows it changes with it. The number a buyer sees is the number their card is charged.

The prompt

Change the price of [the product name] to [the new price] - everywhere it appears, including the shop page.

Signed in, Get my prompt fills in your site for you. Otherwise press Copy and fill in the [bracketed] parts. First time? Connect your AI to bernard once: Use your own AI (opens in a new tab).

How it works

  1. Tell Bernard. Log in, open your site, and say it in your own words - or use the prompt below.
  2. Or use your own AI. Prefer ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini? Connect it once in Use your own AI (a one-time MCP setup), then ask there - same result.
  3. Approve. Either way you get a preview. Check the new figure, press Approve, and it’s live.

If several prices have changed, list them all in one message - every change lands on the same preview, and you approve them together. Selling a course too? Its price changes the same way (Charge once, or sell a year of access).

Want money off without changing the shelf price - a launch offer, a code for your newsletter? That’s a discount, not a price change: Run a discount or a sale.

Questions people ask

How do I update prices on my website without logging into a builder?
If your site is hosted with bernard, you say it: tell Bernard in your dashboard - or the AI you already use, ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini - the piece and the new price. No dashboard forms, no hunting through page editors, and nothing changes until you approve it.
Will the checkout charge the new price?
Yes. On House with a Shop a price is one record - the shop page, the product’s own page and the checkout all read from it, so what a buyer sees and what their card is charged can never disagree.
What if it changes the wrong price?
Nothing is published until you look at a preview and press Approve. If something’s off, reject the change and ask again - and bernard keeps a full year of history, so any published change can be put back.
