A dandelion seed head in a gust, its seeds streaming away, each carrying a tiny photo or envelope

Why does my moving post take about two minutes to make?

When you press Compose with Bernard or Use this, Bernard makes a new film for your post. It is not a ready-made clip with your photo dropped in. That is why it takes about two minutes and not a second.

The prompt

“Is the film for my [day] post ready yet?”

Signed in, Get my prompt fills in your site for you. Otherwise press Copy and fill in the [bracketed] parts. First time? Connect your AI to bernard once: Use your own AI (opens in a new tab).

What happens while you wait

  1. Bernard writes the film. He looks at your photos (where the subject is, and where there is empty space for your words) and writes how the film moves: the timing, the framing and where your words sit. A social post gets two films, one for each shape the networks take.
  2. Bernard checks it. Every word on screen must come from your post or be your business name. Every picture must be one you chose. The words must be easy to read over the photo and clear of each network’s buttons, and the length must be right. A film that fails is written again once.
  3. Bernard records it. The film is played on a separate computer and recorded frame by frame into a video file, the same kind each network takes.
  4. Bernard puts the film on your post.

We timed one on a live post on 15 October 2026. Writing the film took about 30 seconds, recording it about 30 seconds, and the film was on the post about two minutes after the press. Some films take a little longer.

The card says Bernard is preparing the film until it is ready. Then it plays under What goes out, and you watch it before you press Schedule.

A film you bring from somewhere else

A film you upload, or one your own assistant sends, is also prepared before you can schedule it, and the card says Preparing your film until it is ready. You can leave the page while it does (Can I use a photo or a film I made on my phone or in another app?).

To make a film, see Make a photo move for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Questions people ask

Do I have to wait on the page?
No. You can leave the page or close it. The film carries on, and it is on the post when you come back. Schedule waits until the film is ready, so you always watch what you approve.
Why does a social post take longer than a blog header?
A social post gets two films, one for each shape: a tall one for Instagram and Facebook, and a 4:5 one for LinkedIn. Bernard writes and records each one.
What if it says Bernard could not write the film?
The post keeps its photo, and nothing changes on your calendar. Try again in a minute. If a film fails the checks twice, the post stays still and Bernard says why.
Does a change to the film take as long?
Yes. A change is a new film, so Bernard writes, checks and records it again. A scheduled post with a new film needs Schedule again, because you approve the film you watched.
