The eight questions
- What’s the site mostly for? Sell things, offer a service, take bookings, teach a course, show your work, or keep people informed - pick the one that matters most.
- Who is it for? A few words. bernard suggests a guess read from your own site, so you can often just tap it; if bernard hasn’t read your site yet, it asks what you offer instead.
- What do they worry about before they buy, book, or get in touch? Chips in a visitor’s own words - pick up to two, or add your own.
- Three words for how you want to sound. Only three - any more and they stop meaning anything.
- How formal should it read? A slider from casual to formal.
- Anything your site must never sound like? Optional - luxury, cheapest, corporate, whatever doesn’t fit you.
- How much do you like on a page? Minimal, balanced, or rich.
- What must never change? bernard shows you the colours and heading font it’s already found on your site, and you choose what’s locked.
Your answers are yours

Questions people ask
- Do I have to answer all eight?
- No. Skip anything you’re not sure about and it’s left blank, never filled in with a guess. You can come back to a skipped question from the Style page whenever you like.
- Does bernard need to read my site before I can answer these?
- No, that’s the whole point. The eight questions work with no AI and nothing to wait for. bernard reads your site alongside, in the background, for the things you shouldn’t have to type yourself - your exact colours, your fonts, who’s named on the site - and that reading never blocks the page.
- What happens when I change an answer later?
- Changing an answer updates your style record straight away - nothing on your live site changes yet, so there’s no approval needed for that. It’s only when bernard drafts or designs something using the new answer that you’ll see a preview and approve it before anything goes live.
