Open Your Style in the sidebar and you’ll see three cards: About this site, How you sound, and How you look. Between them they’re everything bernard currently understands about your business, and it comes from two different places: what you told it yourself, and what it worked out by reading your site.

Your own answers come first
The first time you open the page, bernard asks eight quick questions rather than guessing - see Tell bernard how you want your site to sound and look. Whatever you tap or type there is marked confirmed by you, and nothing bernard reads later is ever allowed to overwrite it. Skip a question and it stays blank, not filled in with a guess.
What bernard reads for itself
While you’re answering, bernard reads your site in the background for the things you shouldn’t have to type yourself: the exact colours and fonts already on your pages, who the site names, and the facts an editor must never get wrong. You never wait for this - the cards fill in as the reading lands.
Changing an answer
Once you’ve finished, a quiet Change an answer link sits under the cards, so nothing about your style is locked in for good. You can also talk it through with bernard in the workshop instead of tapping through the questions again.
Your style is what every AI edit, draft and design job reads before it touches your site, so it keeps writing in your voice and keeps a restyle honest to what you’ve locked in.
Questions people ask
- Will bernard ever overwrite what I’ve told it?
- No. Anything you tap or type on the Style page is marked confirmed by you, and no later reading of your site is ever allowed to change it. If you want it different, tap Change an answer and update it yourself.
- Is reading my site an AI edit I need to approve?
- No - reading is just bernard looking, not changing anything, so there’s nothing to approve there. It’s the drafts, edits and designs built from what it reads that show you a preview and wait for your approval before they touch your live site.
- What if bernard hasn’t read my site yet?
- The How you sound and How you look cards fill in as the reading lands, without you needing to do anything or wait on the page. Until then, they simply show what you’ve told bernard yourself.
