Turn my photos into a gallery
A page of photos dropped in one after another looks like a camera roll; a gallery looks like a body of work. On a bernard-hosted site, turning one into the other is a single ask.
How it works
- Get your access prompt. Log in to bernard, open your site, and copy the prompt from Edit with AI (it contains a key that works for 12 hours).
- Paste it into your AI — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, whichever you already use — then ask in your own words, or use the prompt below.
- Approve. The AI sends back a preview link. Check the grid, the order and the captions, press Approve, and it's live.
Because bernard sites are script-free by design, your gallery is fast, clean HTML and CSS — no slow plugins, no pop-up viewers that break on phones. The AI follows your site's existing style, so the gallery looks like it was always there.
The prompt
“Take the photos on [the page they're on, or paste them into the chat] and arrange them into a tidy gallery grid, with [captions / titles] under each one.”
The [bracketed] parts are yours to fill in. First time? Log in to bernard → your site → Edit with AI → copy your access prompt, paste that into your AI first, then ask the above.
Questions people ask
- How do I make a photo gallery on my website without a plugin?
- If your site is hosted with bernard, you don't need a plugin — galleries are just well-arranged HTML and CSS, which is exactly what your AI edits. Tell ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini which photos to use and it builds the grid; you approve a preview before it goes live.
- Can I add captions or titles to each photo?
- Yes — tell the AI what each photo is ('the first one is Blue Coast, oil on canvas, 2025') and it adds captions in the site's own style. It will ask rather than invent details it doesn't know.
- What if I don't like how the gallery looks?
- You'll see it on a preview page first — nothing is published until you press Approve. Reject it and ask for bigger images, fewer columns, or a different order; and bernard keeps a full year of history, so even approved changes can be undone.
