What is my morning email from Bernard?
Bernard’s note is how you keep up with him without opening the app. It comes at half past seven in the morning, UK time, and it is only sent when there is something to say. See How Bernard looks after things for me for how much he does on his own and how you set that.

What is in it, and in what order
- Needs you. Shown only when something waits: work on hold that happens within a day, with Stop it and Send now; prepared work, with Yes, do it, Look first and Not now; and anything that is your judgement alone, with Open the list.
- What Bernard did. One line for each piece of work that was done and then checked on your live site.
- What will happen. Later holds with their times, then the next week of your calendar.
- What did not work. Changes that failed their check, findings that turned out to be wrong, and any kind of work Bernard has gone back to preparing for you after problems. It is never hidden to make the note look better. See Where can I see everything Bernard has found and done?.
- What changed. Only numbers that can be counted, such as visits from Google to a page after a change. On Mondays this is where Bernard’s weekly read of your analytics goes, so you get one email, not two.
- Watching. Things Bernard noticed and will not act on yet, and why.
- The footer. Your setting, Change it, Pause Bernard and Email setting.
Deciding from the email
A button in the note opens a short page that shows what will happen and who is deciding. Nothing happens until you tap the button on that page. How do I stop something before Bernard does it? explains that page, and why sending something straight away asks you to sign in first.
Choosing the rhythm
Pick every morning, Mondays only or off under Your note from Bernard. Owners start on Mondays only while Bernard is on Ask me first, and on every morning at the higher settings. Safety notices before a hold are separate: they always reach whoever approves that kind of work, whatever you choose here.
Questions people ask
- Will I get an email every day, even when nothing happened?
- No. When nothing waits for you, nothing was done, nothing is on hold, nothing went wrong and there is no result to report, no email arrives at all. A day with only finished work is one short paragraph.
- Does the email ask me to approve anything?
- Only when something waits for your approval. Prepared work carries Yes, do it, Look first and Not now. Work on hold carries Stop it and Send now. Each button opens a short page, and only the button on that page decides anything.
- Can I change how often the email comes?
- Yes. Choose every morning, Mondays only, or off, from Email setting at the foot of the note. It opens Your note from Bernard on the page that lists everything Bernard looks after. Your choice changes only your own email.
- Who gets it?
- The account owners, from the start. Other members of the account get it only if they choose it for themselves. A new site starts on Mondays only, and moves to every morning when you let Bernard do more.
- What happens when something I reported gets fixed?
- The note opens with a line naming it and saying it is fixed. This happens only for something you told Bernard yourself, never for a problem an assistant reported on its own.
- I have not had one. Is something wrong?
- bernard is switching the note on gradually. Until it reaches your site, your board on the site home shows the same things.
