Pricing
What bernard costs.
Three sizes, one flat price each, paid yearly or monthly. The number on this page is the number you pay: no charge per page, and no cut of what you sell. The renewal price is written on every card, so nothing changes shape in year two.

30-day no-quibble money-back guarantee
Try bernard for 30 days. If it is not for you, tell us and we will refund your first payment in full: no forms, no reasons, no quibble. The Move is included free and stays free, even if you leave.
You pay for what your site does, not how many pages it has. A hundred-page site costs the same as a ten-page one. Every size covers one website, and every size includes the Move: your whole site brought across with every old link kept working. You always get 14 days with your own site, moved in, before you decide.
When you start selling
Add-ons, and the one rule about combining them.
A shop goes on Small or Medium; Large already includes one. Courses go with a bare Small, and courses with anything else is Large. An extra site goes on any size. bernard takes 0% of your sales whichever you buy, so the only cut anyone takes is Stripe’s card fee.
A shop
£200
a year
For selling a thing. Someone pays, you post it or they download it, and the transaction is over.
Courses
£600
a year
For selling access. People are enrolled by name, they come back, and being enrolled is the thing they bought. Courses come with their own checkout, so a course seller does not need the shop as well.
An extra site
£150
a year
Each. On any size. Useful if you run more than one thing and want them both looked after.
Courses go with a bare Small. Courses with anything else is Large.
That is the only combining rule, and it exists so the ladder always climbs. Three combinations are blocked, and blocking them costs you nothing, because in every case Large is the same price or cheaper and gives you more.
| Small | £200 a year |
| Small and a shop | £400 a year |
| Medium | £500 a year |
| Medium and a shop | £700 a year |
| Small and courses | £800 a year |
| Large | £1,000 a year |
| Small, courses and a shop | £1,000 | Same price as Large, and Large adds the marketing. |
| Medium and courses | £1,100 | £100 more than Large, and no shop. |
| Medium, courses and a shop | £1,300 | £300 more than Large for exactly the same thing. |
You can do all of this yourself, in the app. Open Billing to change size, or to add a shop, courses or another site on its own. Large brings the shop and the courses with it. Whatever you add joins the plan you already have, so it stays one payment on one renewal date, and you only pay the part of the year that is left. The prices above are real and they are what you will pay.
The bits people ask about first
Yearly or monthly
Every size can be paid either way. Paying for the year up front costs ten months rather than twelve, so you get two months free. £20 a month, or £200 for the year.
What happens at renewal
It renews at the price on the card. There is no introductory rate that quietly changes in year two.
No free tier, and why
There is no free plan. You do get 14 days first: your own site, moved and rebuilt, inside the real product, so you are looking at the real thing before you decide. But you pay to keep your site, so a free tier would mean giving away the product.
What the Move costs
Nothing extra. Your whole site brought across, every old link kept working, included free with every size. We do not sell the Move on its own, so there is no separate price for it.
Questions
Pricing, answered plainly.
How much does bernard cost?
Nautilus Small is £200 a year or £20 a month. Nautilus Medium is £500 a year or £50 a month. Nautilus Large is £1,000 a year or £100 a month. Paying for the year up front costs ten months rather than twelve, so you get two months free.
What happens when it renews?
It renews at the price printed on this page. Small renews at £200 a year, Medium at £500, Large at £1,000. There is no introductory rate that quietly changes in year two.
Is there a free trial or a free tier?
No, and it is worth being straight about why. Before you pay anything you get 14 days with your own site, moved and rebuilt, inside the real product, so you are looking at the real thing rather than a demo. But there is no free plan. You pay to keep your site, so a free tier would mean giving away the product.
What does the Move cost?
Nothing extra. The Move is included free with every size, whether you pay yearly or monthly. We do not sell it on its own, so there is no standalone price to quote.
Do you take a cut of what I sell?
No. bernard takes 0% of your sales on every size. Stripe still charges its own card-processing fee, and we do not pretend that one away.
Can I change size later?
Yes, in the app. Open Billing and upgrade: your existing subscription is amended in place rather than bought again, so you are never charged twice for the same months. For anything the Billing tab does not offer yet, tell us and we will sort it with you.
What if I have more than one site?
Every size covers one site, and extra sites are £150 a year each, on any size. You add the site yourself in the app, on your Account page, and the move runs just like your first.
Do I pay more for a bigger site?
No. You pay for what your site does, not how many pages it has. A hundred-page site costs the same as a ten-page one.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes, on every size. Monthly is £20 for Small, £50 for Medium, £100 for Large. Paying for the year up front gets you two months free.
Is VAT added on top?
No. bernard is not VAT registered, so nothing is added at the checkout. The figure on this page is the figure you pay.
Can I add a shop or courses later?
Yes, and the quickest route is in the app: upgrade to Large through Billing and both come included, with your existing subscription amended in place. On the smaller sizes, a shop is £200 a year on Small or Medium, and courses are £600 a year with a bare Small only: courses with anything else is Large, because Large is the same price or cheaper for the same thing.
Do you price in dollars or euros?
Small does: $270 or €230 a year, and $27 or €23 a month. Medium and Large are priced in pounds only for now.
See your own site first. It costs nothing to look.
