Bring my students across with the time they have left

When you move from Podia, Teachable or Kajabi, some of your students bought a course with a time limit, for example 12 months of access. They should keep the time they paid for: no more, no less.

The prompt

“Move my students from [platform] and keep the time each one has left. Here is each person’s email, their courses and the date they bought each one: [paste or attach the list].”

How it works

  1. Export who has what, with the dates. For each person: their email, the courses they have, and the date they first bought each one (or the date their access ends, if your old platform shows that).
  2. Give the list to Bernard. He matches each product to a course here and shows you the plan: people, courses and dates. You say yes.
  3. Everyone is set up quietly. A course with a 12-month term that someone bought ten months ago ends in two months. A course with no time limit stays open for good. Nobody is emailed, and Bernard reports the end date each person was given.
  4. You hear about anyone who has run out. If someone’s access has already ended, they are not given the course, and Bernard names them.
  5. Tell everyone when you are ready (Email my students a link to all their courses).

The whole move, step by step, is in Move my students from Podia, Teachable or Kajabi. How long a course stays open is set on the course itself (Charge once, or sell a year of access).

Questions people ask

A student bought a 12-month course ten months ago. What do they get here?
Two months, the time they had left. Give Bernard the date they first bought it and their access ends 12 months after that date, not 12 months after the move.
What if my old platform shows the date access ends instead?
Give Bernard that end date instead. One date per student and course is enough: the start date or the end date, not both.
What about courses with no time limit?
They stay open for good, whatever start date you give. The start date is still kept on their record.
What if someone’s access has already run out?
Bernard does not give them the course and tells you who they were, so you can decide. Everyone else on the list is set up as normal.
Will anyone be emailed?
No. Students are given their courses quietly, after your approval of the plan. You tell them when your new site is ready.
